Descript Resources: Beginner Guide
Sep 09, 2026
When Descript’s interface changes, the skill that lasts is knowing where official answers live—so you are not stuck when a button moves. From descript.com, open the Resources tab and use Blog, Community (Discord), Changelog, and Help and support (Ask Assistant).
This beginner guide matches the Descript Made Easy lesson “Descript Resources.”
How to use Descript Resources (step by step)
- Open your browser and go to descript.com.
- Open the Resources tab. Four spots matter for beginners: Blog, Community, Changelog, and Help and support.
- Blog — mostly marketing and SEO. Fine to skim. Not the place to fix a broken edit.
- Community — choose Resources → Community, then click Join our Discord Community. Start in #introductions and #ask-the-community. Discord is other creators and some Descript staff; it is not billing support.
- Changelog — choose Resources → Changelog. Updates are dated and grouped as New, Improved, and Bug fixes. Check here when something in the app looks new.
- Help and support — choose Resources → Help and support (or go straight to help.descript.com). Click Ask Assistant, ask a real question (for example, “how do I use studio sound”), then open the article link if you want the full steps.
- Your turn — join Discord if you have not already. Then ask Ask Assistant one question from a lesson you already watched.
